Strong Start with Noteworthy Splits Jayden Jung, a 17-year-old from Brea, CA, showcased impressive pacing during the 2026 Surf City 10. His race began with a swift first mile clocked at an impressive 4:58 min/mile, placing him 20th overall. As the race progressed, Jayden held a solid pace through the middle miles, maintaining good momentum. The pace went from 6:30 min/mile in the second mile to 8:34 min/mile by the seventh mile. The 15-minute split in the eighth mile presents an opportunity for strategy adjustment and might explain the slight drop in pace.
