Impressive Mid-Race Acceleration Melody Li delivered an exceptional performance at the 2026 Surf City 10 with significant acceleration, finishing with an overall time of 1:00:50 for the 10K. Starting with consistent pacing at 13:01 min/mile for the first two miles, she substantially accelerated starting from mile 3. Her most impressive splits came in at mile 4 and 6, with paces of 8:21 min/mile and 7:56 min/mile, respectively, showcasing her strong ability to pick up speed as the race progressed. Ending with a final pace of 9:48 min/mile and securing 550th overall out of 2818 participants, Melody climbed the rankings significantly, moving up in her division from 147th to an impressive 36th in the F 35-39 category. This improvement throughout the race is noteworthy, especially her surge in rankings from mile 2 to the finish line.
