Outstanding Performance in the M 55-59 Division Patrick Pence from Newport Beach, CA, showcased an incredible race performance at the 2026 Surf City 10, achieving first place in his age division for the 5K event. Throughout the race, Patrick maintained a consistent and impressive pace, clocking in at an overall finishing time of 19:48 with an average pace of 6:23 min/mile. This remarkable consistency in pace is a testament to his strategic race plan from start to finish. Notably, Patrick's swift start with a 6:17 pace for the first mile helped him establish a strong position early on, as he moved up in overall ranking with each subsequent mile. His ability to slightly accelerate and then maintain a steady split time of 6:26 for the following miles contributed to his solid overall placement, finishing 19th among 2148 participants, and 18th among all males. The Cal Coast Track Club should be proud of Patrick's exceptional accomplishment.
