Strong Performance in the Surf City 10 Sam Fox represented Brea, CA, and the Fantastic Fam team splendidly at the 2026 Surf City 10. Tackling a 10K course, Sam completed the race in 51:47, maintaining an average pace of 8:21 per mile. Impressively, he placed 5th in the male 20-24 division, showcasing a commendable effort among peers. Sam's pacing strategy was consistent at the start, with an 8:00 pace for the initial mile, showing a keen sense of controlled acceleration. Notably, from mile 3 to mile 4, he improved his division placement, moving from 7th to 3rd. Although some fluctuation was observed towards the race's conclusion, Sam displayed great resilience, completing the final mile with an 8:22 pace. There's potential to enhance his split times from mile 3 onwards, particularly working on sustaining pace after mid-race. Overall, Sam's performance was a fantastic demonstration of his capabilities on the racecourse.
