Smooth and Consistent Performance Brenda Pelayo demonstrated a consistent pace throughout the 2026 Surf City 10, maintaining a steady pace and strategic approach across her 10K run. Her split times remained close to her overall pace, starting strong with a 12:04 min/mile for the first mile, then tightening her pace slightly to 11:59 min/mile on the second mile, which was the fastest. She showed consistency as she navigated through the middle miles, maintaining a pace between 12:04 and 12:43 min/mile for the remaining segments. Brenda's race strategy allowed her to secure a spot within the top half of her gender division, finishing 761st out of all female participants and 185th in her age group, Female 30-34. Despite a field of 2,818 participants, her well-balanced approach helped her make significant gains in placement, climbing positions in several of the splits.
