Strong Start, Consistent Effort, and a Solid Finish Franklin Cheng of Huntington Beach, CA, had an impressive showing at the 2026 Surf City 10. Throughout the 10K race, Franklin remained consistent, starting strong with a first-mile split of 7:32. He maintained his focus and determination, finishing with an overall time of 51:30 and an average pace of 8:18 min/mile. Representing the Lombardy Running Club, Franklin showed remarkable consistency despite varying mile paces. Franklin's standout performance was reflected particularly in his division placement. While his overall place was 200 out of 2818 participants, he showed strength in the Male 45-49 division, where he finished 12th. The gradual pacing change from the first mile's 7:32 to the sixth mile's 8:30 showcases his competitive start and steady endurance through the race. Continuing work on maintaining the early pace through to the later stages of the race could enhance future results. Congratulations, Franklin!
