Promising Pace and Top Division Finish! Isaiah Welch, age 6, from Carlsbad, CA, delivered an outstanding performance at the 2026 Surf City 10. He started strong with an impressive 6:43 pace for the first mile, securing the 2nd place in the M 14 & Under division. His overall pace was 9:57 min/mile, finishing the 10-mile event with a total time of 1:39:32. Isaiah consistently placed within the top five of his division through the race. Even as his splits slowed, he maintained his position, ultimately achieving 5th place in his age category. Notably, his strongest division performance was at the mile 8 mark, where he improved to 4th place. Isaiah's commitment and pace strategy reflect promising potential.
