Phenomenal Performance with a Rapid Acceleration Holman Pettibone delivered an impressive performance at the 2026 Surf City 10 5K. Starting with a steady first mile at 8:10 min/mile pace, Holman powered through by dramatically improving his pace in the subsequent miles. His second mile was completed at a remarkable 5:13 min/mile, quickly advancing his position from 121st to 6th overall. Throughout the race, Holman maintained strong pacing, closing out the final stretch with an outstanding split of 3:11, which solidified his solid overall time of 16:52. This time earned him 6th place overall and 2nd in the Male 25-29 age division. His ability to accelerate mid-race and sustain a high-speed finish suggests a well-managed race strategy and excellent fitness level. Working on maintaining the initial pace closer to the later splits could further enhance his future performances.
