Steady Podium Push: A Runner-Bike Combo That Keeps Delivering Jeff Marvell turned in a strong all-around performance, finishing 12th overall and 2nd in the competitive 50-54 age group. His bike leg was a standout, covering the course at roughly 22.8 mph and moving him up from 92nd after the swim to a top-15 position by T2. That bike strength carried into a run split holding steady around 7:00/mile pace, closing the gap to finish 12th overall. Compared to his last four Spudman appearances, this result sits just behind his personal best of 2:05:39 in 2025, but still represents his second-fastest finish here, improving on his 20222024 times. The swim remains an area where he could look for growth, sitting outside the top 90 in that segment, while his bike and run continue to be clear strengths worth building on for future races.
