Bike Strength Fuels a Steady Olympic Finish Daniel Olsen turned in a well-rounded Olympic-distance debut at Spudman, highlighted by a strong ride. After exiting the water in the 25:40 range, he used a swift T1 to start climbing the field, then put together a bike split that averaged roughly 19.2 mph enough to move him from 682nd in his gender group after the swim up to 168th by the final bike checkpoint. That surge carried real momentum into the second transition. The run proved more of a battle, as his overall position eased back through the second half of the course, finishing 324th among men and 28th in the 19-24 age division. With the bike leg clearly a strength, building run durability off the bike could be the next focus for Daniel to close that gap between his cycling and running performances in future races.
