A Consistent Finish Despite a Slower Day Douglas Yancey completed the 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon in 2:23:19, finishing 377th overall and holding steady at 15th in the Male 50-59 divisionmatching his rank from last years race. His bike leg was a highlight, averaging roughly 13.4 mph, showing solid control and consistent effort on two wheels. Compared to his 2025 Spudman finish of 2:06:44, this years overall time was about 16 minutes slower, with the run and transitions likely contributing most to the gap. Still, maintaining his divisional placement despite the tougher overall time speaks to Douglass dependable racing character. Sharpening transition efficiency and building run endurance could help him close that gap and return to his 2025 pace next season.
