Bike Strength Drives Steady Olympic Effort Amy Tingey completed her third Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:17:18, finishing 174th among women and 21st in her 40-44 division. Her swim brought her out of the water in the mid-pack, but she surged significantly on the bike, climbing to 272nd overall by the midpoint of the ride while holding an average speed near 16.3 mph over the 24-mile course. This bike strength marked the highlight of her race, showing solid power and consistency on two wheels. Compared to her 2024 (3:12:36) and 2025 (3:06:17) Spudman finishes, this years overall time was her slowest of the three, with the run split proving the most challenging segment relative to her bike pace. Sharpening run efficiency off the bike could help her close the gap between her cycling strength and overall finish time in future races.
