Bike Surge Fuels a Strong Olympic Finish Daniel Dayley turned in a solid performance at this year's Olympic-distance race, finishing in 3:07:53 faster than his 2022 result and just a few minutes off his 2023 pace. He placed 658th overall and 78th in his competitive 30-34 age group among nearly 2,000 finishers, continuing a pattern of consistent, strong showings at this event. The bike leg was the highlight of his day, averaging around 16.8 mph overall, with one standout mid-course segment where he surged to 187th in his gender division a clear sign of strong power output on that stretch. His swim and transitions were steady, while his run settled into a consistent rhythm in the 10:30-11:00 per mile range. With his bike strength clearly trending upward, sharpening his transition times could help him close the gap to his 2023 personal best even further.
