Swim Strength Sets the Tone, Run Pace Cools Late Whitney Clark opened her Spudman Sprint Triathlon with a strong swim, moving into the top 40% of her field and climbing into the top third of her age division early on. She carried that momentum onto the bike, holding a solid pace of roughly 11.4 mph over the 11.3-mile ride, a steady effort that kept her competitive through the midpoint of the race. The back half told a different story, as her run pace slowed to around 14:45 per mile, dropping her overall standing from 145th at the bike's start to 338th by the finish. This pattern suggests fatigue management on the run could be a focus for future training blocks, especially building endurance to sustain the strong pace she established in the water and on the bike. Overall, Clark finished in 2:13:51, placing 170th among 570 women.
