Steady Swim, Strong Bike Surge Power a Solid Olympic Finish Russell Bradford, 55, of Park City, UT, completed the Olympic distance in 3:12:52, finishing 746th overall out of 1,987 athletes. He opened with a 22:51 swim before a brief 6:29 transition into the bike leg, where he covered the course in 1:20:40, averaging roughly 18.1 mph. Notably, he found another gear mid-ride, hitting a blistering 20.8 mph pace during one 10-mile stretch a clear highlight of his day. After a quick 6:08 T2, Bradford closed out with a 1:16:46 run, maintaining a consistent effort as his overall pace settled into the low 12-minute-mile range over the final miles. His performance reflects strong bike fitness, and continued run-focused training could help him close the gap between his cycling speed and run pace in future events.
