Steady Bike Leg Anchors a Well-Paced Sprint Effort Kailey Zaugg returned to Burley for her third Spudman sprint triathlon, finishing 330th overall and 166th among women in a competitive 570-athlete field. Her bike leg was a highlight, holding just under 12 mph over the course, showing strong aerobic control heading into the run. She placed 44th in the female 30-39 division, capping off a race defined by consistent effort across all three disciplines. Compared to her 2022 and 2025 Spudman finishes, this years overall time was a bit slower, suggesting room to sharpen pacing strategy heading into future races. Transition times, particularly T1, were slightly longer than in years past and could be an area to streamline for a quicker turnover. Her swim split remained steady relative to prior performances, showing reliable form in the water. With solid bike strength already in place, tightening transitions and maintaining run cadence late in the race could help push her back toward her faster past finishes.
