Fast Transitions Power a Strong Sprint Debut Julia Maj completed the Spudman Sprint Triathlon in 1:40:19, finishing 73rd overall out of 570 athletes, 24th among women, and 8th in her 30-39 age group. She exited the water in 16:23, then averaged roughly 16.2 mph over the bike leg before closing with a 31:50 run. The standout of Julias race was her first transition she posted the fastest T1 split in her entire division, vaulting from 9th to 1st place in the process. She held strong positioning through the bike, sitting 2nd in her division at the halfway mark before finishing the bike leg 5th. The run saw a gradual pace climb from about 10:24 to 11:21 per mile in the final miles a good area to target for more consistent pacing in future races to help hold onto those hard-earned positions from the bike and transitions.
