Steady Gains Pay Off at Spudman Joshua Smith turned in a strong follow-up performance at the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon, finishing in 3:15:02 nearly a 10-minute improvement over his 3:24:50 finish the previous year. That gain also translated into a big jump in the standings, moving from 1164th to 786th overall and climbing 23 spots in his 30-34 age division. The bike leg was a highlight, where Joshua averaged roughly 16.2 mph across the course. A standout mid-ride push placed him 153rd among men for that segment, showing real strength once he settled into rhythm. His transitions were sharp as well, with a brisk 2:44 T2 keeping momentum into the run. With swim and run times holding steady compared to last year, the extra speed on the bike was the difference-maker in his improved 2026 result.
