Race Recap powered by Laurel Intelligence

Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Julie Cook #2052 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Steady Swim and Solid Bike Power Carry Strong Mid-Race Momentum Julie opened with a smooth 21:56 swim, moving efficiently through the water before a brisk transition into the bike leg. On the bike, she covered the course at an average of roughly 15.4 mph, highlighted by a strong middle stretch where her pace climbed above 17 mph for several miles a clear sign of strong power output once she settled into rhythm. This surge helped her move up through the field significantly during the ride. The run started strong, with early miles in the 10:3011:30 min/mile range, but pace gradually slowed over the final miles, dropping into the 13-minute range by the last stretch. This late fade suggests an opportunity to build more durability for the back half of the run, especially after a strong bike effort. Overall, a well-rounded Olympic-distance performance with a clear bike strength to build from.
