Fast Water Start Fuels a Steady Bike, But the Run Tells a Different Story Zach Green swam his way to a standout 17:27 split, good for 29th overall and 5th among Elite Men a clear strength to build on. He transitioned quickly (3:37) into a solid bike leg, covering the course at roughly 17.4 mph and holding 91st overall through the first bike checkpoint before settling into the pack by the dismount. The run proved the tougher half of the day, with pacing drifting from an 11:23/mile split early to over 12:20/mile by the final miles a sign of fatigue accumulating late. Overall, Zach crossed in 3:00:32, finishing ahead of his 2024 Spudman time (3:03:02) but behind his 2025 result (2:42:41). Sharpening late-run durability could help him close the gap between his bike strength and finishing kick next season.
