A Steady, Bike-Powered Finish at Spudman Kari Spicer completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:55:32, finishing 351st among the women's field. After a strong swim exit, Kari settled into a bike leg that averaged roughly 14.5 mph over the 25-mile course, with a standout stretch between miles 8.8 and 19 where she pushed her speed above 16 mph a clear highlight of the day and a sign of solid cycling fitness. The run leg settled into a consistent rhythm in the 13:4013:50 min/mile range across the back half of the course, showing steady effort management late in a long race. Compared to her breakout 2025 Spudman performance, where she finished 155th overall and 17th among women, this year's result reflects a different kind of day. Rebuilding toward that level of run speed could be a focus in future training blocks, but the bike strength shown here is a strong foundation to build from heading into the next event.
