Bike Power Fuels a Steady Olympic Finish Alec Campbell turned in a well-rounded Olympic-distance effort at Spudman, highlighted by a strong ride through the rolling Snake River course. His bike leg averaged roughly 17 mph, with a standout mid-race surge where he covered over 10 miles at nearly 20 mph a clear high point of his day. Both transitions were crisp, showing good race-day efficiency and no time lost switching disciplines. The run started with real promise, as Alec clipped off his opening mile in under 10 minutes, but the pace gradually eased over the back half, settling into the 1112 minute range by the final miles. Overall, he crossed the line in 2:56:59, placing 51st in a competitive 30-34 age group. With such a strong bike foundation already in place, sharpening run endurance late in the race could be the next area to focus on for an even faster overall time.
