Bike Strength Fuels a Steady Olympic Finish Michelle Peterson completed her Olympic Triathlon in 3:41:32, a well-rounded effort anchored by a strong cycling leg. She covered the bike course at roughly 14.3 mph, a pace that pushed her as high as 318th overall at one point mid-ridea clear high point in her race. Her swim was efficient given the current-assisted downstream format, and her transitions were crisp, with T2 taking under three minutes. The run proved the toughest segment relative to her bike gains, with her pace settling into the 13:3014:30/mile range over the final 6.2 miles. Given how much ground she made up on the bike, targeted run fitness could help her carry that momentum through to the finish line in future races.
