A Breakthrough Olympic-Distance Performance Fueled by a Powerful Bike Leg Heidi turned in a strong showing at the Olympic-distance event, finishing 104th overall out of 1,987 and taking 2nd in her competitive division. Her bike split stood out, covering the course at roughly 18.3 mph and moving her into the top 15% of the field by the time she reached T2. That strength on two wheels set up a solid transition into the run, where she settled into a steady rhythm, holding paces in the 7:307:50 per mile range over the final miles. Compared to her previous sprint-distance finishes at this race, this result marks a clear step up in competitiveness, especially given the jump to Olympic distance. Her swim was efficient and put her in position early, while her run pacing stayed consistent late into the race, closing with a strong final mile. Continued focus on tightening transition times could shave a bit more off future results.
