Fast Start, Strong Finish: A Tale of Two Halves Jacobie Peterson opened her Olympic-distance race with a standout swim, exiting the water in the top 10 among all female competitors and leading her 19-24 division outright. She carried that momentum into the bike, cruising through the first several miles at paces near 4:10/mile before settling into a steady rhythm across the 24-mile ride, averaging roughly 13.4 mph for the bike leg. Transitions were crisp, with T1 and T2 combined taking under six minutes. The run presented more of a challenge, with her per-mile pace gradually easing from an opening 11:57 to the 13:30 range by the final miles. Still, Peterson found a strong gear at the finish, closing out the last tenth of a mile at an impressive 3:19 pace. She crossed the line in 3:32:40, capping a race defined by an elite swim leg and a well-managed bike-run combination.
