Strong Mid-Race Bike Surge Fuels Steady Olympic Finish Alex opened with a smooth, current-assisted swim and moved efficiently through T1 in just over four minutes. The bike leg was the highlight of the day averaging roughly 16 mph across the 24-mile course, with a standout surge between miles 14 and 14.4 where Alex hit nearly 19 mph, a clear high point in power and pacing. T2 was crisp at just over two minutes, setting up the run. The run told a different story, with pace settling into the 12:3012:50/mile range for the middle miles after a fast start off the bike. Energy dipped through the back half of the course before a strong final surge closed things out. Overall, the bike strength stands out as a real asset dialing in a more consistent run cadence off the bike could be the next area to sharpen for future Olympic-distance efforts.
