Consistent Bike Power, Slower Overall Finish Chanse Carlson completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 4:08:11, his third consecutive finish at this race but his slowest yet, trailing his 3:26:10 in 2024 and 3:53:21 in 2025. His bike leg stood out, covering roughly 24.4 miles in 1:51:23 for an average of about 13.1 mph, highlighted by two standout middle segments where he ranked 8th in his 50-54 division. Both transitions ran long, with T1 at 8:03 and T2 at 5:54, adding notable time to his overall clock. On the run, Carlson held a steady pace between roughly 16:00 and 16:35 per mile for most of the 6.2-mile leg before easing up slightly near the finish, completing it in 1:39:04. That pacing consistency reflects solid aerobic endurance, and trimming time in transitions could be a clear opportunity to bring his overall finish closer to his 2024 and 2025 marks.
