Fast Swim Start Sets the Tone for a Solid Olympic Finish Quade Foster opened his Spudman Olympic debut with a strong swim, exiting the water in the top 200 overall and holding a top-20 spot in his 30-34 division. That early momentum carried into a steady bike leg, where he averaged roughly 15.3 mph over the course, maintaining consistent split paces through each checkpoint despite gradually settling into the mid-400s in his gender group by T2. The run proved to be the toughest stretch of the day, with his mile splits gradually easing from the 9:40s to just past 11:00 by mile 31, ultimately finishing in 3:02:30. Foster crossed the line 556th overall and 70th in his division. With his swim strength clearly an asset, incorporating more run-specific endurance work could help him carry that early pace deeper into future races.
