Strong Mid-Bike Surge Highlights a Hard-Fought Finish David's swim came in at 32:45 for the 0.86-mile downstream leg, followed by a 5:53 T1. The bike leg showed real strength in the middle miles, with a 5.6-mile stretch covered at roughly 17.8 mphgood enough to climb to 7th in his division at that pointbefore settling into an overall bike pace near 15.2 mph. A crisp 3:31 T2 kept transitions efficient. The run told a story of fading pace before a late rally: splits slipped from 16:00 to 15:19 per mile through the middle miles, but David found another gear in the final stretch, closing the last tenth of a mile at a 5:38 pace. This marks his third Spudman finish (3:10:08 in 2022, 3:44:51 in 2024, 3:54:43 in 2026); tightening the run's middle-mile pacing could help reverse that trend next time out.
