Race Recap powered by Laurel Intelligence

Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Cameron Meyer #5198 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Bike Strength Fuels Best Divisional Finish Yet Cameron powered through the bike leg averaging nearly 19 mph, highlighted by a blistering 2:55/mile stretch through the B7 split. Transitions were sharp too, with a quick 1:55 T2 keeping momentum into the run, where he settled into a steady 9:4110:00/mile rhythm over the final miles. Compared to his last two Spudman appearances, this was his slowest overall time (2:46:50), yet by far his strongest relative result climbing from 66th in his division in 2024 and 45th in 2025 to 23rd this year. That jump suggests the bike gains are translating into real competitive ground, even as the clock ticked slightly higher. Tightening the run split, which has hovered just under an hour each year, could be the next lever to pull for an even stronger finish next season.
