Race Recap powered by Laurel Intelligence

Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Taylor Schenck #4256 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Steady Bike Effort Anchors a Tougher Day on the Course Taylor Schenck completed the Olympic distance at Spudman in 3:04:12, finishing 483rd among men and 81st in the 35-39 age group. The bike leg was a clear highlight, with an overall pace near 18.4 mph and a strong mid-race stretch where Taylor pushed closer to 20.5 mph, moving up significantly in the standings during that segment. Transitions were efficient, and the swim was completed in just over 24 minutes. Compared to last year's Spudman finish of 2:40:21, this result was slower by about 24 minutes, with a dip in both overall and age-group placement. The run split showed some fade in the closing miles, an area worth revisiting in training to help sustain pace off the bike. Still, the bike performance stands out as a real strength to build on for future races.
