Strong Transitions and Steady Bike Power Fuel a Solid Sprint Finish Josh Holmstead turned in a well-rounded sprint triathlon performance, highlighted by excellent transition work his T1 was among the fastest in the field, moving him up to 4th in his 40-49 division at that point, and he carried that momentum into a strong start on the bike, briefly holding 2nd in his division. Over the bike course, Josh averaged roughly 16.2 mph, a solid effort that saw him gradually settle into the mid-pack of his age group as the ride progressed. The back half of the race showed consistency, with Josh holding a steady run pace in the 10:30/mile range through the final miles. He crossed the line in 1:40:54, finishing 51st among 570 male competitors and 11th in his 40-49 division. With a strong swim exit and quick transitions already in his toolkit, focusing on sustaining that early bike intensity could help him climb further into the pack in future sprint efforts.
