Date: July 25, 2026 Participant: Jay Richman #5245 Race: 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon Event: Olympic Triathlon Weather: Hot, but otherwise a great day for a triathlon.

Steady Endurance Marks a Solid Return to the Course Jay Richman completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:23:15, finishing 931st overall out of 1,987 and 70th in the 40-44 age group. His swim came in at 27:02, followed by a 6:20 T1 that stood out as the longest segment relative to his other transitionsT2 was completed in just 3:09, showing he tightened up significantly once back on foot. On the bike, Jay covered the course at an average of roughly 13.45 mph, with his fastest middle segment (miles 4.28.8) hitting closer to 14 mph before settling into a steadier rhythm through the remaining miles. The run leg took 57:58, opening strong with an 8:08 pace over the first mile before gradually easing to the 9:409:48 range for the remainder. Compared to his 2022 Spudman finish of 2:32:22, this year's result reflects a more measured effort across all three disciplines. Sharpening T1 efficiency and working to hold early-run pace longer could help tighten future finishing times.
