Bike Strength Overshadowed by a Difficult Run Finish Will completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:03:13, finishing 570th overall and 31st in the men's 45-49 division. After three straight years finishing between 2:36 and 2:38, this result marked a clear step back about 27 minutes slower than his 2025 Spudman time, with corresponding drops in both overall and gender placement. The swim and transitions were efficient, and the bike leg was a clear highlight, averaging roughly 19.2 mph over the course and pushing him into the top 150 at several points along the ride. The run told a different story: an encouraging opening mile near 10:20 pace steadily slipped into the 13:0014:00 range by the closing miles. Focusing on run endurance and pacing strategy could help him better match his strong cycling performance in future races.
