Powerful Bike Leg Can't Offset a Fading Finish Sandee Miller crossed the line in 3:21:16 at the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon, placing 193rd among women and 12th in her 45-49 division. This result trails her previous appearances at Spudman, where she posted 3:02:36 in 2025 and 3:05:26 in 2023, marking her slowest finish at this race to date. The bike leg was clearly her strength this year cruising at roughly 18.5 mph, she climbed as high as 2nd in her division mid-ride. That momentum didnt carry into the run, though, where her per-mile pace steadily slipped from the low 12s to over 14 minutes by the final miles, dropping her from a competitive position into 12th in her division by the finish. Building run durability off the bike could help her convert that cycling strength into a stronger overall result next time out.
