Powerful Cycling Effort Anchors a Solid Olympic-Distance Finish Wyatt's bike leg was the highlight of the day, covering the course at an average of roughly 19.6 mph, including one blistering stretch clocked at a 2:54 min/mile pacenearly 20.7 mph. That strength pushed him into the top third of his field by the time he hit T2, showing real power and control on two wheels. The run proved tougher, with mile splits drifting into the 12:3013:00 range, suggesting fatigue set in during the back half of the course. Compared to his 2025 Spudman finish of 2:30:45, this year's 3:06:25 marks a notable step back, driven mainly by the run split. Sharpening run fitnessperhaps with more brick workouts pairing hard bike efforts with sustained run pacingcould help Wyatt close that gap and match the bike-run balance he showed last season.
