# Strong Bike Leg Powers Solid Olympic Finish Andy Erickson completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 2:42:26, finishing 8th in the competitive 55-59 Solo Male division out of 1,987 total participants. The standout segment of his race was the bike leg, where he averaged over 20 mph and moved up significantly in the standings, jumping to 4th in his division and 118th in gender placement by the time he racked his bikea clear highlight of his day. The run proved tougher, as Andy's pace gradually slowed over the course, with his final miles ticking up past 11 minutes as fatigue set in. This dropped him from 4th to 8th in his division by the finish. Transitions were efficient throughout, particularly T2 at just over three minutes. With such a strong cycling foundation already in place, dedicating some training focus to building durability on tired legs for the run could help Andy close out future races with the same strength he shows on the bike.
