Steady Effort, Slower Splits Mark Latest Olympic Finish Kelsey Cate completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 4:07:07, finishing 63rd in her 30-34 age group and 391st among female competitors. Her swim came in at 25:30, followed by a lengthy T1 of 14:33 before heading out onto the bike course. On the bike, she covered the roughly 23-mile stretch at an average speed of about 12.8 mph, finishing that leg in 1:48:59. A quick T2 of 6:20 transitioned her into the run, where she posted a 1:31:47 split, averaging roughly 14:47 per mile over the closing miles. This result marks her third Spudman finish, with times of 3:42:06 in 2022 and 3:59:01 in 2024 preceding this year's 4:07:07. The trend across these three races shows a gradual increase in overall time, particularly in the bike and run segments. Sharpening bike speed and finding more consistency in the run pace could help her move back toward the pace she posted in 2022.
