Swim Speed Sets the Tone for a Balanced Olympic Finish Shania Lovell opened her Olympic-distance race with a standout swim, exiting the water in 20:36 good for 37th among all female swimmers, a clear strength to build around. She carried solid momentum onto the bike, holding an average of roughly 15.1 mph over the 24-mile ride, with her early miles ticking along in the 1315 mph range before settling into a steady rhythm through the back half of the course. T1 took 5:23, notably longer than her snappy 1:13 T2, an area worth tightening up for future races. On the run, Lovell maintained a consistent 9:51/mile pace across the 6.2-mile course, closing out her day in 3:03:24. She finished 577th overall out of 1,987 athletes and 12th in the competitive 30-34 age group, capping off a well-rounded performance anchored by a strong swim and steady bike split.
