Steady Bike Surge Powers a Well-Rounded Sprint Finish Ron Christensen turned in a solid performance at the 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon, finishing in 1:56:56 and placing 20th in the competitive 40-49 age group. After exiting the water in the mid-pack, Ron used the bike leg to make his biggest move, climbing from 236th place overall after the swim to 149th by mile 12. His bike split, averaging roughly 15 mph over the 12.45-mile course, was clearly the strongest phase of his race and reflects strong aerobic power on two wheels. The run brought him back into the field slightly, finishing 215th overall, but his consistent pacing across the final miles showed good endurance management. Transitions were efficient, with T2 completed in just 2:18. Looking ahead, Ron could look to carry more of that bike-leg momentum into the run to close the gap even further in future races.
