Steady Pacing Powers a Solid Sprint Finish Melanie completed the sprint triathlon in 2:05:00, finishing 280th overall out of 570 and 139th among female competitors, placing 24th in her 40-49 age division. Her bike leg was a clear highlight, covering the course at roughly 13.9 mph and lifting her from 217th overall at the swim start to 165th overall by mile 12 a strong mid-race surge. The swim leg, covering 0.61 miles, saw her come out of the water in 335th overall, showing theres room to build early momentum before the bike carries her forward. On the run, Melanie settled into a consistent rhythm, holding pace in the 13:1514:10/mile range across the final miles, closing out with a strong final kick over the last tenth of a mile at 4:23 pace. Her transitions (T1: 6:08, T2: 6:02) were slightly longer than her competitive segments, suggesting quicker transition execution could help her gain a few additional overall placements in future races.
