Powerful Mid-Bike Surge Highlights Olympic Debut Coming off two sprint-distance finishes at this race in 2024 and 2025, this outing marked a step up to the Olympic distance. The swim was completed in 26:44, followed by a bike leg that averaged roughly 14.6 mph over just over 24 miles. Notably, the middle-to-late bike stretches were a highlight sustained sections in the 16 to 16.5 mph range showed strong cycling fitness and pacing execution once into rhythm. The run proved to be the toughest leg of the day, settling into a pace in the 15:3016:40 min/mile range for the majority of the 6.2-mile course a sharp contrast to the sub-7:00 min/mile run splits posted in prior sprint-distance races. This suggests the jump in overall race distance took a toll on run legs late in the event. Building run-specific endurance for the longer Olympic run leg could be a valuable focus for future training blocks.
