Bike Strength Fuels a Solid Olympic-Distance Finish Chase Lindsley completed the Olympic-distance event in 3:21:59, anchored by a standout bike leg. Averaging roughly 18.3 mph over the ride, he moved up significantly in the field, climbing from a mid-pack swim position into the top third of all cyclists by T2. That bike split was clearly the highlight of his day, showing strong sustained power and pacing across the full distance. The swim and run legs were more modest by comparison, with his swim pace placing him closer to the back of the field exiting the water. The run settled into a steady rhythm without major surges, suggesting an opportunity to build run speed off the bike in future races. Transitions were efficient and didn't cost him significant time.
