Powerful Bike Leg Highlights a Tougher Day on the Run Chandler Daw returned to Spudman for a third straight year, crossing the line in 3:13:33 a step back from his 2:57:54 finish in 2025 and 3:00:12 in 2024. The bike was clearly the highlight of the day: Chandler averaged roughly 18.2 mph over the course, building speed as the ride progressed and posting his fastest bike splits in the race's closing miles, a strong sign of pacing discipline on two wheels. The run told a different story. After a solid opening mile near 11:00 pace, the effort slowed considerably in the second half, with late-race miles dipping into the 14:4715:46 range before rallying for a strong final kick. Given the strength shown on the bike, dedicating some training focus to sustaining run pace off the bike could help close the gap between Chandler's cycling and running performances in future races.
