Strong Bike Split Undercut by Lengthy Transitions Paden Hansen took on the 2026 Spudman Sprint Triathlon, finishing 410th overall out of 570 athletes and 41st in the mens 30-39 division. His bike leg was the highlight of the day, averaging just under 15 mph over the 13.17-mile course, a pace that moved him up through the field. He backed that up with a steady run, holding a consistent rhythm across the final stretch to close out the race. Where Hansen lost ground was in his transitionsT1 and T2 combined ate up nearly 27 minutes, a notable jump compared to his 2025 Spudman sprint performance, where he finished more than 44 minutes faster overall. Given the clear strength he showed on the bike and run this year, sharpening his transition efficiency could translate directly into a much quicker overall time at his next race.
