Fast Swim Start Propels Runner-Up Finish Katie Pack turned in a strong all-around Olympic-distance performance, highlighted by an excellent swim that had her exiting the water as the 5th fastest female and the top age-grouper in the 25-29 division. She carried that momentum onto the bike, holding a strong pace of roughly 17.1 mph and maintaining her position near the front of her age group through the ride. The run proved to be more of a battle, as her position in the field softened slightly, settling into 2nd place in her division by the finish. Still, Pack closed out the race with a runner-up finish among 25-29 solo females and a top-40 result among all women, a strong showing built on a swim leg that few in the field could match.
