Strong Bike Split Couldn't Offset a Tougher Swim and Run River Schenck completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:55:52, finishing 1286th overall and 95th in the men's 25-29 division. The standout of the day was the bike leg, where River averaged roughly 16.4 mph over the course, showing solid cycling strength and consistent effort through the ride. The swim and run legs proved more challenging this time around, with River's overall time landing over an hour slower than last year's 2:50:26 finish at the same race. The run in particular saw pacing dip into the mid-to-high teens per mile in the later miles, a noticeable shift from the sub-6 minute pace River posted in 2025. Sharpening run fitness and finding a steadier rhythm off the bike could be valuable focus areas heading into the next race.
