Powerful Bike Leg Anchors a Well-Rounded Endurance Effort Carlos Hernandez completed the 2026 Spudman Olympic Triathlon in 3:25:41, finishing 741st among men and 75th in the competitive 40-44 age group. His swim was steady, but a lengthy T1 transition (9:01) slowed his early momentum. Once on the bike, Carlos found his rhythm, holding roughly 16.2 mph over the 25.36-mile course a strong showing that moved him up significantly in the field, including a standout 10.2-mile stretch where he averaged near 17.6 mph and briefly cracked the top 600 overall. His run began solidly, with an opening mile near 10:37 pace, but he gradually lost speed over the final miles, settling closer to 12:26 pace by the latter stretch. A quick T2 (3:30) helped preserve time gained on the bike. Overall, Carloss bike performance stood out as the highlight of his race, while maintaining more consistent run pacing could help him build on this solid finish next time.
