Consistent Improvement Marks a Strong Return to the Course Sam Rasmussen shaved nearly two minutes off his previous Olympic-distance finish here, crossing the line in 2:56:04 compared to last years 2:58:02. That improvement came with a notable jump in the standings moving from 748th to 412th overall, 592nd to 344th in his gender category, and 72nd to 36th in the Elite Mens division. The bike leg stood out as a highlight, with Sam averaging close to 19.5 mph over the course, showing strong power and consistency through the ride. The run leg held steady in the 10:3011:40 min/mile range for most of the course, a solid effort after a hard bike split. A slight pace dip in the final miles suggests an opportunity to build more late-race run strength for next season. Overall, this was a well-rounded, improved performance from last years Spudman, with strong bike execution as the clear standout.
