Fast Swim Sets the Tone, Bike Holds Steady Before a Late Run Fade Arie Trouw opened his Olympic-distance race with a standout swim, clocking 20:09 to place 172nd overall and 9th in his divisionan excellent start that put him well ahead of the field early on. He carried that momentum into the bike leg, averaging roughly 16.2 mph over the course, a solid effort that moved him into the top 200 at several points along the ride. The run proved more challenging, with mile splits climbing from 12:28 to nearly 14:30 by the final stretch, reflecting fatigue after a strong bike effort. Compared to his 2025 Spudman finish (3:12:09), Arie's 2026 time of 3:25:37 was about 13 minutes slower, though he still placed higher overall (961st vs. 982nd). Sharpening run pacing in the closing miles could help him convert his strong swim-bike combination into an even more consistent finish next season.
